What is Physical Therapy?

Physical therapy is a dynamic profession with an established theoretical and scientific base and widespread clinical applications in the restoration, maintenance, and promotion of optimal physical function. Physical Therapists use strengthening, massage and other modalities to ensure you can perform all activities without the burden of pain. Central Texas Physical Therapy takes this a step further by using advanced movement observation, coordination training and facilitation techniques to treat your specific body. This means our services are beneficial to people of all ages and levels of injury. Whether you currently have pain or are recovering from surgery, we will uncover the right treatment for your body.

Your First Appointment

Your first visit will last approximately 1 to 1 ½ hours. During this visit, you will receive a physical therapy evaluation and treatment plan for your particular musculoskeletal or neurological problem.

We recommend comfortable clothing and footwear as therapy sessions involve exercise, stretching, and strengthening. Shorts are preferable for knee, ankle, or foot problems and tank-tops or sleeveless shirts are preferable for upper body problems.

You can reduce the overall time required on your first visit by downloading and completing your new patient forms. Please remember to bring your prescription/referral, patient forms and your insurance information.
